The Minority Welfare Department of Telangana has officially announced the registration dates for the Telangana scholarship year 2025. The last date to submit applications is December 31, 2025. We request all interested candidates to submit their applications before the deadline through the official Telangana ePASS portal. Candidate must be a Resident of Telangana. Family income should not exceed ₹5 lakhs per annum from all sources. Applicants should not be older than 35 years as of July 1, 2025. The admission criteria are to have 60% marks in the last degree program. Eligible countries include the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, New Zealand, Japan, France, and South Korea.
Objective of Telangana Overseas Scholarship
According to the announcement letter, the Telangana Overseas Scholarship will cover INR 20 lakh as tuition fee. The government will provide a one-way ticket to the students who are chosen and who have also received their visas. Every student will have access to all of these services at no additional cost. This scholarship aims to assist people in pursuing their studies without being limited.
As soon as the student gets accepted to a foreign PhD program, they will be allowed to apply for the scholarship and will be able to pursue further education and career development through this opportunity.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility for the Telangana Scholarship 2025 is as follows:
- Applicants must be residents of Telangana.
- Must have already secured admission into a foreign university.
- Applicants must have at least 60% marks in their previous qualification exam and also meet the required test scores in exams such as GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE, depending on the course and university.
- The candidate should be no more than 35 years as of July 1, 2025,
- The total annual family income must be less than ₹5 lakhs from all sources. Only one student per family is eligible to benefit from the scheme.
- The scholarship is specifically meant for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Tribes, Backward area and Classes.
- The income criterion is capped at ₹2 lakhs per annum.

Disbursement of the Scholarship
- Total scholarship amount is up to ₹20 lakhs
- Disbursed in two installments:
- 1st Installment (50%) is released after submission copy of the student visa, immigration entry details (proof of landing abroad), and a joining report from the foreign university.
- 2nd Installment (remaining 50%) is released after submission of proof of continued enrollment, which contains an academic performance/progress report from the university
- Amount is directly transferred to the student’s Indian bank account. In Some Cases, the scholarship may be directly paid to the foreign university for tuition fees.

Selection Process
- A merit list is generated based on a weighted scoring system:
- 60% weightage for academic performance in the qualifying examination, 20% weightage for GRE/GMAT scores
- 20% weightage for TOEFL/IELTS/PTE scores.
Note: Even if the foreign university does not require GRE/GMAT or TOEFL/IELTS/PTE scores, candidates must submit at least two of these test scores to be considered for the merit list.
